The Hyatt

As we mentioned before, the day that the movers were in our apartment packing, David received the most dreadful email from KAUST. Our very nice-promised home was not finished and our move date was now August 27th. They mentioned that they had "accommodations" for us in Jeddah. I believe a day later we find out that we are staying at the Park Hyatt in Jeddah. It is one beautiful place, very high class, very elegant..... very kid unfriendly!

The hotel is not officially open to the public. It is filled with KAUST members. I have seen a few Saudis but only briefly. The kids pool and spa are not open yet, they have a pool and a gym but it is for Gentleman only!! :-0 I would like to point out here that the man are working all day long because woman are only allowed to work in places like hospitals and schools, SO, may I kindly ask WHY DO YOU HAVE A POOL AND GYM FOR PEOPLE THAT ARE NOT THERE DURING THE DAY??!!!! you might answer, people that stay at the hotel are on vacation, to that I say, NOT right now!!
................. sorry if you thought I was always positive, here is proof that I am not!............

No tienen parque or piscina.

We slept a lot the first few days.
Dormimos mucho los primeros dias.
Victoria found the fruit plate on a little table in the room, ever since they are best friends!
The girl that doesn't take naps was the victim of Jet lag, this was not the only place where we found her.
We got them this tent with 100 balls to make their room a lot more fun. Now Elena tells her friend "Oh no!! my daddy is going to be really unhappy!" (the balls came out of the tent)
One of the fountains in the hotel, our background is the Red Sea.
Marin, Corban and the girls hang out pretty much everyday. They love being together. In the picture below they are all drinking water from one bottle because we were outside and the restaurant only gave us glass cups, so we just had them use straws!!

That is a totally valid point. Makes no sense at all!

Hang in there, honey--not long until August 27th!

We are so glad you are here with us! In a few years we will look back on this and (still think) what were they thinking sticking us here with our little kids!

Wow its hard to believe they have a mens only pool, where do the women swim with the kids? Glad the hotel is nice. Sorry to hear about the picture thing but glad to see you were able to get a few anyway. Looks and sounds like it has already been an interesting adventure so far. Hopefully your new home will be ready early!
