The Corniche

****the previous post was made 3 days ago but blogger didn't upload my pictures until last night. I am super behind on updates, but since I am writing from the future I think I'm ok*******

On our first Thursday or Wednesday ( I really can't remember) we took a little walk over to the shoreline. We had seen the beach with playgrounds and other fun things every time we were in the car and Elena was very sure we needed to go there.
We don't have many pictures because David learned long time ago that Saudis didn't take pictures of people, it is disrespectful. I am finding out more and more about that, I think it depends on some people that might get offended by it. We saw some people with a camera and a video camera at the beach. My guess is that in some places we will fine taking pictures and in some no, definitely do not take pictures of someone you don't know!

The beach is really pretty and we found people fishing, having a picnic, in the playgrounds, horses or four wheelers. Yes, you read right. I notice that the africans have horses and they "dress them up" and then charge you to go and take a ride, mostly kids do it. As for the four wheelers I believe they are run by other middle easters members, they charge you 10 Riyals to go around the park twice. We convinced them to let us go 3 times!!! They are crazy though, they let little kids drive those things and some of them are not very good, plus the play area is right there, they could run over other little kids. It is a mess, but Elena loved it all.

On our way over to the beach. She decided it was too hot,she was done! We are just outside the hotel!
