I can't believe it's been that long. I can't believe that five years ago, this little baby came and made me a mother. I am so grateful for her, she's funny, smart, loving, silly, clever but mostly a "sweetheart" like Grandpa used to call her.

A nice friend made her a origami gift box with a butterfly on top and some sweet jewelry inside. She felt SO special :-)
Elena is one positive girl, there isn't an impossible for her, she will always find a way to make things happen.

Elena LOVES people, she is just so happy around people and WE are her favorite. Every time Victoria gets hurt, she gives her a pillow to rub her face against. When she comes home from school, she must have a proper hug from her little sister. She LOVES, adores, worships her dad, he knows everything, he is her prince, he is her teacher, he is everything she will ever want him to be. She cares for me, if I ever feel sick, she helps me and cuddles with me so I can feel better, she always lets me know how much she loves me and is enthusiastic about our silly games through out the day.
She apologized to Grandma, Grandpa and Chocha (my mom) for not inviting them to her birthday party :-)
Elena queria que le tomara esta foto para que sus primos la vean toda loquita. Ella los extrana muchisimo.
Elena quiere mucho a la gente, ella siempre esta feliz si esta rodeada de amigos. Nosotros somos sus personas favoritas. Cuando a Victoria se golpea la cabecita, Elena le trae una almohadita para sobarse. Cuando ella regresa de la escuela tiene que recibir un abrazote de la hermanita. Elena adora a su papa, para ella el es perfecto en todos los aspectos. Elenita me quiere mucho y cuando me enfermo me cuida y se acurruca conmigo hasta que me sienta mejor.
Cuando hablo con sus abuelitos y la Chocha se disculpo con ellos por no haberlos invitado a su fiesta!

When we arrived at KAUST after our summer break, Elena noticed some guys out on the street picking up garbage. She also noticed how hot it was so she asked me to let them have a drink from her water bottle. I explained to her that that wasn't a good idea but told her that we could buy some water bottles and give it to them, and so we started the "Green men mission" we bought a big box of water bottles and we put some in the fridge, and every time we go outside we would take a couple, when we found one of the man in the green suits, she would hand them a water bottle and say "thank you for cleaning KAUST"
She has the best ideas and I am so honored to be her mom and learn so much from her.

Aqui esta mi nena grande, my princesa!
Cuando regresamos a la casa despues del verano, Elena se dio cuenta que en las calles habian hombres vestidos de verde recogiendo la basura. Tambien se dio cuenta del calor y les quizo dar agua de su botella. Yo le explique que eso no es buena idea pero que podriamos ir y comprarles agua, y asi empezo la mission "Hombres de verde" Ahora compramos botellas de agua, las enfriamos y cuando salimos llevamos algunas y se las damos a los hombres de verde que estan limpiando las calles.
Ella siempre tienen las mejores ideas y estoy muy orgullosa de ser su mama y aprender de ella.

That is an awesome idea to give water bottles with a simple thank you! She is beautiful outside and in. Just like her mama.
We forgive her for not inviting us. Looks like we missed lots and lots of fun. I always love her dance moves. And I love her even more...
